Frequently Asked Questions

What grade point values are used?

The standard 4.0 scale is used: A/A+ = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B− = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, and so on down to F = 0.0.

How is GPA calculated with credit hours?

Multiply each course's grade points by its credit hours to get quality points. Sum all quality points and divide by total credit hours: GPA = Σ(grade points × credits) ÷ Σ credits.

Can I calculate my cumulative GPA including previous semesters?

Yes. Enter your previous cumulative GPA and the total credits earned so far, and the calculator will factor those into the new cumulative result.
